PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
London, 2 October 2025 – Natalia Morris, the celebrated author and illustrator behind the enchanting children’s book Quest for Cookies, is featured in Reader’s House Magazine, an esteemed London-based literary publication known for spotlighting exceptional writers worldwide. The latest issue includes an exclusive interview with Natalia, offering readers a profound look into her artistic journey, creative processes, and heartwarming inspirations.
In a glowing review, Reader’s House Magazine praised Natalia Morris and Quest for Cookies for its captivating storytelling, vibrant illustrations, and universal messages that resonate across generations. The publication described her work as “a journey of heartfelt tales, whimsy, and artistic wonder,” further lauding her ability to craft narratives that blend imagination with authenticity.
Natalia shared insights into the themes and creative elements of her debut book, reflecting on how personal experiences and cultural connections shape her work. Speaking about the inspiration behind Quest for Cookies, she revealed:
“Gnomey’s love of lavender cookies comes straight from a special place in my heart. My grandmother makes these delicious cookies for me anytime I go over to visit. I believe that stories based partly in the real world are more impactful for readers. The book’s heart has a universal message: grandparents are awesome and deserve our time and attention. Across cultures, there’s deep value in honouring our elders, and I wanted to reflect that in a way that speaks to kids everywhere.”
Discussing her approach to illustrating the magical and multicultural world of Quest for Cookies, Natalia highlighted the unique techniques that brought Gnomey’s story to life:
“The entire book was illustrated on my iPad using Procreate. I applied a technique I learned while earning my Fine Art Diploma: ‘Do not completely render something and then move on, work on the piece as a whole.’ This approach helps maintain cohesiveness in each illustration, ensuring the book feels alive and harmonious.”
Natalia also touched on the incredible reception of her book, which reached #1 in the multicultural children’s charts and recently drew eight holds in local libraries. She reflected on this success with heartfelt gratitude:
“Honestly? Like a warm hug from the universe. Knowing people are actively waiting to read your book is incredibly affirming—it made me feel like I’m on the right path and gave me the confidence to keep exploring this creative avenue.”
As both author and illustrator, Natalia uniquely balances narrative pacing with visual rhythm, ensuring her stories are as engaging aloud as they are on paper. She shared:
“I always imagined reading the story aloud to my daughter. Interestingly, I illustrate first—the words come later, moulded to match the energy and rhythm of the artwork. It’s an unusual approach, but for me, it ensures the visuals and text complement each other perfectly.”
Currently expanding her artistic portfolio, Natalia Morris continues to inspire aspiring creators with her heartfelt advice:
“My advice would be to only make something if you really believe in your product. If you are creating something that does not come from your heart, it will show. Love your work and others will too.”
The full interview with Natalia Morris is available in Reader’s House Magazine, celebrating her remarkable talent and the enduring magic of Quest for Cookies. The publication’s global reach ensures Natalia’s artistry will continue to touch hearts across tens of countries, marking her as one of the brightest stars in children’s literature today.
